Nursery Assistant

We are currently recruiting for an Early Years Practitioner for our baby rooms.This is a full time position to start soon. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of the Pre- Birth to 3 Curriculum and a genuine interest for how children learn through play.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self motivated, and has a real passion for improving outcomes for every child in the nursery. early years professional who works well as part of a team and understands the importance of delivering quality learning experiences to all children.
Registration of SSSC and PVG is a requirement
Successful applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening which includes checks with past employers and Disclosure Scotland.

• 40 hour contract working Monday to Friday

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have an (SVQ3 or HNC) qualification in Early Years and at least 2 years previous experience with knowledge of the Pre- Birth to 3 Curriculum and how to support the development of children with a genuine interest in how children learn.

We are currently recruiting for Early Years Support Workers to work within our busy nurseries. This is an exciting role for a someone who is wanting to work towards a childcare qualification, you can earn whilst you learn.
You will have opportunities to learn all aspects of early learning and childcare as well as gain an understanding of current guidance for working with children and young people, such as Child Development, Curriculum for Excellence, Building the Ambition and the Value of Play.

Nursery Assistants are supervised and trained by qualified staff. They are also required to undertake an SVQ in Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF level 7 and attend regular classroom based training sessions as well any additional core training as required.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.

• Three passes at National 5 or three passes at Intermediate 2 or three passes at Standard Grade Credit Level or Equivalent; one of these must be English, and/or relevant experience.
• High standard of communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Willingness and ability to study and achieve SVQ in Social Services Children and Young People SCQF level 7.

You will also be required to meet the registration requirements of a Practitioner with SSSC.
